The idea was developed around the concept of the Greek courtyard. Its location is in the heart of the city of Trikala, amidst tall buildings and minimal greenery. A reference point for the area is the small park located across from it and the playground. This led to the design of a green courtyard, with the landmark being the stone house within the plot, built around 1950.
The position of the bar, in combination with the stone building, forms the core of the courtyard. Shade and waterproofing are achieved through a large metal pergola, patinated with a rust effect, the covering of which is done in combination with panels and natural reed branches, as well as partially with a folding awning system. The floor is made of cement and pebbles, created using traditional techniques.
The entrance to the courtyard is defined by an iron gate inspired by the tradition of the region. The enclosure consists of large stone terraces, planted with Leyland cypresses and a specially shaped waterfall, elements that, along with the rest of the planting within the courtyard, create greater thermal comfort. The selected furniture is primarily wooden, with specially crafted pieces made of iron and cement.
